SUMMARY:INSIGHTS Skills Training "How to work with AI tools in academia"
DESCRIPTION:AI tools are currently discussed everywhere as well as their ri
 sks and potentials. But how to use them for scientific purposes? What are 
 the risks dealing with them for researchers? We are happy to have won AI-s
 cientist Clara Bersch (MPI Center for Humans and Machines) again for a pra
 ctice-oriented INSIGHTS training on this matters.\n\nThe training is suita
 ble for all BSoE PhD students and Postdocs. You will receive 1ECTS for you
 r participation.\n\nThe training takes place on Friday, April 11, 2025 9 a
 .m. – 3 p.m. WZB Berlin Science Center, Reichpietschufer 50, 10785 Berli
 n \n\nThe training will cover the following points:\n\n 	Basics of AI and
  in particular natural language processing: insight into various AI tools 
 (e.g. ChatGPT, text analysis tools), introduction to the use of these tool
 s (including basic knowledge of APIs and programming for beginners). 	Use 
 of AI tools to support the development of research questions and to conduc
 t effective literature searches. 	Text analysis: Use of GenAI for semantic
  text analysis, from topic modeling to discourse analysis and automatic co
 ding of qualitative data.  	Paper and grant writing: Using GenAI to write
  scientific papers and grant proposals that clearly communicate research i
 deas in line with tender requirements. 	Techniques for effective communica
 tion and presentation of research results with AI tools. Tips for creating
  comprehensible and appealing content. 	Ethical issues, data protection an
 d copyright: Risks in dealing with AI technologies, basics of data protect
 ion when using commercial AI products, overview of copyright aspects when 
 using AI-generated content. \n\n To register for the training, please send
