SUMMARY:INSIGHTS Skills Training "Social Media for researchers"
DESCRIPTION:Science communication has continuously developed and profession
alised significantly in recent years. Its importance for creating an infor
med public that trusts science and scientific expertise has become clear f
or science and politics alike. At the same time, social media is becoming
increasingly important not only for institutionalised science communicatio
n, but also for communicating researchers.\n\nBut where should researchers
start? How can they decide which target group they address? And which sci
ence communication formats or social media channels should they choose to
reach their respective target groups? In this workshop, participants will
get to know different channels - Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Instagram &
TikTok - and learn how to set up their own social media strategy through p
ractical exercises. The workshop with trainer Janne Steenbeck (Wissenschaf
t im Dialog) supports the participants with a mixture of theoretical impul
ses, individual work phases and discussions of results in the group.\n\nTh
e training is suitable for all BSoE PhD students and Postdocs. You will re
ceive 1ECTS for your participation.\n\nThe training takes place on Februar
