
Lena Gatscha is a science communication specialist dedicated to connecting economic research with society, media, and policy audiences. With an academic background in social sciences, she focuses on translating complex research findings into clear, engaging, and accessible formats. She studied at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Sapienza University of Rome and gained practical experience in academic communications during her traineeship at the University of Potsdam.
Before joining the Berlin School of Economics, she worked as a press officer at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, where she supported researchers in communicating their work through media relations, social media, and video formats. She also organized media training for early-career researchers and facilitated internships with external media partners to strengthen their communication skills and professional networks.
At the Berlin School of Economics, Lena develops strategic science communication and knowledge transfer formats, strengthens alumni engagement, and enhances the visibility and societal relevance of research and early-career scholars. In addition, she coordinates mental health support services for members of the program.
