Dirk Engelmann received his Doctoral Degree in economics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2000. He has been an assistant professor at CERGE-EI (Prague), Reader and Professor of Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London and Professor of Experimental Economics at the University of Mannheim. Since 2014 he is Professor of Public Economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His research is primarily experimental and covers various topics, including social preferences, belief biases, auctions, and taxation. It has been published in the American Economic Review, Econometrica, The Economic Journal, Games and Economic Behavior and other outlets.
