Description:
This seminar is open to advanced Master students interested in empirical economic research in the field of social policy and labor markets and to PhD students who specialize in the field of applied microeconomics, in particular, in empirical work striving to identify causal effects (e. g, by applying quasi-experimental methods). The seminar aims to help students kick starting their first research project respectively first research paper. We offer students a forum to present and discuss their own research project. Presentation of early stage research projects or research ideas is encouraged. Active participation in all weekly meetings is mandatory. Extensive feedback will be provided on the research project, including recommendations on how to proceed with their research agenda towards their dissertation. The seminar will be also devoted to questions concerning the writing of papers (e.g., abstract and introduction).
