Marco Caliendo is Professor of Empirical Economics at the University of Potsdam, Speaker of the Center for Economic Policy Analysis (CEPA) and Program Coordinator for the research area „Evaluation of Labor Market Programs“ at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn. Previously he was Director of Research and Senior Research Associate at IZA and Senior Research Associate at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin. He holds a PhD from Goethe University Frankfurt and is Research Fellow of DIW and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg.
Marco is an applied microeconometrician and his current research interests include the evaluation of labor market programs, job search and unemployment dynamics, self-employment/entrepreneurship and the influence of personality traits on economic outcomes.
