Professor Adam obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1997. Before joining Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Fall 2008, he held positions at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the Sloan School of Management (MIT), the University of Michigan, and the National University of Singapore. His research focuses on the areas of corporate risk management, mutual funds, and syndicated loans, and has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial Intermediation among others.
